Φωτογραφίες με προσωπικά αντικείμενα των θυμάτων της πτήσης MH17

Χάρτες, στατιστικά, διαγράμματα, υποθέσεις και σενάρια χρησιμοποιήθηκαν διεθνώς για να παρουσιάσουν ενδελεχώς τη συντριβή του αεροσκάφους των Μαλαισιανών Αερογραμμών στην Ανατολική Ουκρανία. Αλλά το ανθρώπινο στοιχείο της τραγωδίας της πτήσης MH17 εξακολουθεί να είναι δυσδιάκριτο για πολλούς, παρά όλον αυτό τον ορυμαγδό στοιχείων.

Τα ονόματα και οι εθνικότητες των θυμάτων δημοσιεύτηκαν, οι ιστορίες τους εξιστορήθηκαν, η πολιτική σύγκρουση Ρωσίας και Ουκρανίας πάνω από τις άταφες ακόμη σορούς τους συνεχίστηκε αμείωτη, και η θλίψη των οικογενειών τους μετουσιώθηκε σε πηχυαίους τίτλους στα μέσα μαζικής ενημέρωσης.

Και παρότι χιλιάδες φωτογραφίες της συντριβής είναι διαθέσιμες για να καταδείξουν το τραγικό τέλος των 298 επιβαινόντων (οι περισσότεροι από αυτούς ταξίδευαν για να χαρούν τις διακοπές τους), ίσως το μόνο που χρειάζεται πραγματικά είναι μερικές φωτογραφίες από απλά, καθημερινά προσωπικά αντικείμενα των θυμάτων όπως ένας ταξιδιωτικός οδηγός, μια κούκλα, η ζωγραφιά ενός παιδιού, ένα ζευγάρι γυαλιά ηλίου, ένα ποδήλατο ή ένα λούτρινο πιθηκάκι για να καταλάβεις ότι οι "298" ήταν κάτι πολύ περισσότερο από καταχωρισμένα ονόματα σε μια βάση δεδομένων.
